We Are Seeking a New Minister
Thank you for visiting our site.
Are you a Unitarian-Universalist or other liberal denomination minister? Are you considering retiring and/or moving Florida in the next few years?
If so, please read on!
Our dear minister, Bob MacDonald, is looking to retire in the next two or three years. He and the congregation have a consensus to accomplish this in a manner that departs from custom. Usually, when a new minister arrives at a UU church, he is given both reins. The retiring minister departs entirely so that no conflicts or doubts arise regarding the acceptance of the new minister.
Contrary to custom, we wish for an applicant who is open-minded and can work closely with Bob during a gradual transition of perhaps a year or two.
Do get to know us by looking over our site and perhaps view a service or two on our Youtube channel. We are a warm and inviting UU church in the lovely retirement haven and travel destination of Stuart, Florida. We have a spacious, contemporary building with a narthex connecting the sanctuary to a meeting hall with kitchen, offices, etc. As you might expect from a Florida congregation, ours averages over the retirement age, but we are very active and very open-minded. We are a modestly sized congregation. Our minister is offered a part-time 75% contract.
Is a part-time ministerial position in your retirement a path you wish to explore? Please contact us and have a chat with our current minister.

Bob came from upstate Troy, New York. He majored in history and philosophy at West Virginia Wesleyan College then majored in theology at Yale Divinity School. While in college and seminary, he worked small churches to support his young family. He did graduate work in intellectual history at Temple University and in theology at Drew University. He was ordained in the New York Conference of the United Methodist Church. In 2006, he retired and a year later, discovered the TCUUC, where started the book club. In 2008, he began seven years of part-time ministry at the TCUUC then retired again and moved to Asheville, NC. A year later, Bob and his wife returned to the area, and the TCUUC.
